Merry Tuba Christmas!

14 12 2008

I just got back from the 33rd annual “Merry Tuba Christmas” here in Los Angeles (actually at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA).  It’s a good time and a great show.  I think there were around 150 tubas playing various Christmas favorites (and a couple of Hanukkah favorites as well).  There were tubas of various sizes and shapes… and tuba players of all ages.  I think the oldest was around 76 or so, and the youngest probably around 13.  Apparently one high school brought 29 tuba players.

“Merry Tuba Christmas” happens throughout the country.  There might be one near you… check it out here.  If there is, I recommend going.  …it’s free, family friendly, and a lot of fun.  (You even get to sing along with the tubas!).
